Why we sort the games by age, not by guesswork
A seven-year-old and a twelve-year-old can both love the same game. They just need different questions inside it.
That's why we sort the collection two ways. There are four age bands — 5 to 7, 7 to 9, 9 to 11 and 11 to 13 — and a page for each school year from Year 1 to Year 6. Pick whichever one you already know, and the games you land on are pitched near the right spot.
Every game has easy, medium and hard. Stars are saved on the device your child plays on, so nobody needs to make an account and nothing follows them around. They can repeat a level as many times as they like, or jump up to hard the minute easy gets boring. Nothing is locked behind finishing something else.
Not sure which to pick? Start one level below where you think they are. If the first round feels too easy, move up. A quick win at the start does far more for a nervous reader than a question they can't crack.

03 — Four age bands
Four age bands of fun educational games, ages 5 to 13
Each band leans on the kind of thinking kids that age enjoy — tapping and matching early on, arguing about trivia answers later.
- Ages 5 to 7 — Counting, number bonds, simple adding, shapes and coins, plus phonics and sight words. Lots of tapping, matching and colouring — Colour and Learn Paint, Memory Match and Number Zapper suit little hands and short bursts of play.
- Ages 7 to 9 — Times tables, bigger addition and subtraction, telling the time, measurement and money. Spelling lists, plurals and punctuation rounds, plus first science quizzes and Australian geography for kids who ask a lot of questions.
- Ages 9 to 11 — Multiplication and division, fractions, decimals, area and word problems. Grammar and word sorting, science concepts and lab experiments, world geography and history including First Nations topics.
- Ages 11 to 13 — Multi-step word problems and early algebra, harder spelling and grammar, and general knowledge trivia that gets properly competitive. Built for older kids who want a challenge, not a cartoon.

Chapter two
What kids practise in Year 1 to Year 6
If you know the school year, start here. Each year pulls together the maths and English games that match what Australian classrooms are working on.
Year 1
Counting to 100, simple addition and subtraction, 2D shapes and coins. In English, letter sounds, blending, sight words and short spelling rounds with plenty of pictures.
Year 2
Two-digit addition and subtraction, skip counting, telling the time to the half hour and measuring with everyday objects. Spelling patterns, plurals, capital letters and full stops.
Year 3
Times tables, division, fractions of a shape, money and word problems — our Australian Curriculum maths games for Year 3 live here. English adds contractions, apostrophes and longer spelling lists.
Year 4
Multiplying larger numbers, equivalent fractions, decimals, area and perimeter. Grammar rounds on verbs, adjectives and sentence types, plus spelling that trips up most Year 4s.
Year 5
Decimals, percentages, factors, volume and multi-step word problems. Reading comprehension and harder spelling too, with NAPLAN-style practice for Year 5 sitting in the optional Parent Pass.
