Parent Pass and School Licence with NAPLAN Style Practice for Year 3 and Year 5

NAPLAN-style practice for Year 5 includes reading comprehension activities, Times Tables Master drills, and Daily Quest questions. Questions are written in a similar format to the real NAPLAN test—read a passage, solve a problem, choose the best answer. Most families use it 10–15 minutes after school, a couple of times weekly, in the weeks before test time. No child login required; the Parent Pass is an optional add-on to free learning games.

What the Parent Pass adds at home

Four things switch on. Nothing is taken away from the free games, and you can ignore all of it if your child is happy just playing.

NAPLAN-style practice for Year 3 and Year 5 is the big one. The questions are written in a similar shape to the real thing — read a short passage, work out a number problem, choose the best answer — so the format stops being a surprise. Most families we hear from use it for ten or fifteen minutes after school, a couple of times a week, in the weeks before test time.

Reading comprehension activities give your child a short passage and a handful of questions about it. Some ask what happened, some ask why, and some ask what a word means in that sentence. It is the quiet skill behind almost every other subject, and it is easy to practise on a phone on the way to swimming.

Times Tables Master drills one table at a time, then mixes them up once the easy ones are automatic. Stars still save on the device, so a kid can see the sixes get faster week by week without an adult keeping score. It sits neatly alongside our free maths games if you want more variety.

Daily Quest is a small set of questions that changes each day. It takes a few minutes, it pulls from maths, English and general knowledge, and it gives the day a starting point. Plenty of children will do the quest and then keep playing something else — which is exactly the idea.

How a class runs the Classroom Challenge

The School Licence adds the Classroom Challenge: class codes and a local scoreboard, built so a teacher can start a round without collecting a single login.

  • Share the class code — You create a code and write it on the board. Students type it in on the devices you already have, and they land in the same challenge as everyone else in the room.
  • Run it as a warm-up — Ten minutes at the start of maths works well: same year level, easy or medium setting, everyone in at once. It also fits a rotation, with one group on the challenge while you work with another.
  • Watch the local scoreboard — Scores show on the scoreboard in the room, so the class can see how they are going together. Nothing is broadcast beyond the devices in front of you.
  • Classroom tools and ideas — Licensed schools get the classroom tools plus our rotation ideas, year-level pages and warm-up activities.

These are practice activities written in a similar style to NAPLAN, so the format feels familiar and your child stays calm on the day. They are not official test papers and they are not marked by anyone. Short regular sessions beat a weekend of cramming, every single time.
